Singapore- April 2014

Hello, I am here to blog about Singapore! I went to Singapore in May 2014, and it was actually my first visit, much to everyone's surprise!
I went with my BF, and we were there for about 5 days- I think. Largely known to be a pretty expensive place to live and visit, and we quickly found it to be very true.

We stayed in the perfect location for shopping and eating- Orchard Road, at the then newly opened Holiday Inn Express. We really liked the hotel because it was smack in the middle to everything within walking distance, clean and reasonably priced for that area. The hotel does not have room service (but they do clean daily).

Just posing outside Dior hahaha
The ever Singaporean treat! Ice cream sandwich! My friends laugh at me but I love this. When in Rome!
Before I went, my BF raved about several places that he recommended we absolutely must go to to eat, and one of them was this Hainanese Chicken Rice in Far East Plaza:

It was really good!!

Lost in chronology hahaha this is me again with my ice cream sandwich

One fine day, we set out early to find Hipster Road aka Haji Lane! It wasn't too hard to find, we found our way via Google Maps.

We had our brunch at this quaint cafe called CAD Cafe
My brunch!

Cool hipster interiors
#Takemeto :)
Haji Lane is a street of shops and cafes, selling mostly locally designed/made items such as clothes, jewellery and other little trinkets. I bought a bracelet which I thought was really pretty! But things aren't cheap there because well, they're "one of a kind".

On another day, we went to... Universal Studios Singapore!!

I kinda made my BF take me through the cable car that goes over this river thing, and then I felt nothing but terrified while in it. Haha and it wasn't cheap either. We bought a two-way ticket but we ended up only taking it on the way there and not back. I was terrified because I am afraid of heights hahaha

Poker face to hide my fright
Obligatory USS shot :)
Otw walking into USS. This is a mock up of the Merlion :)

At Madagascar

Outside the Mummy of Egypt roller coaster. I can't remember the name but I remember it really scared me! The roller coaster is indoors and in the DARK! So I couldn't anticipate that big drop that came! I changed because before that, we went on the Jurassic ride which got us slightly wet.

It was really fun and I think our favorite ride was the Transformers one, where it was like a 3D ride and we sat inside this ball like an interactive ride.

Don't know which day this was but I remember it was us setting out to explore Orchard Road malls! Shopping is amazing there! Got my shades at Observer, Bugis.

I also pestered my BF to take me to a Celebrity Chef restaurant because I am pretentious like that. :P Jokes.
We chose Osteria Mozza for Italian cuisine!

Me and ma main laaaav (after my BF)- Wine!
My dish- beef something. It was so good!
My dish was so good! My bf had fish, which he said was okay only. The atmosphere was really good as well. I am so grateful my BF tolerates and entertains my demands like this, taking me to a celebrity chef restaurant at one of the most expensive countries in the world. The dinner went up to a little less than S$300 :)

Overall, I really like Singapore and how clean it is. I also love how convenient public transport is. Amazing food, amazing shopping.. I can't wait to go back!
My next adventure is to England and parts of Europe, so until then then. My next post shall most probably be in October or November when I am back.

Stay amazing! And lame because you read my blog xx
